About Me

Hey, I'm Robert Ottenburger

I have over 40 years of experience in the photography industry. My passion was born out of love for photography, which I acquired in my early childhood years. The first camera I held in my hands at the age of 8 was a Smiena 8M / a gift from my Dad on the occasion of my First Holy Communion. Then I began to wonder, how is it possible to take photographs out of this small box? Aha, there is a photographic film first and then there are photographs…

But what is a film, and how is an image created on it? Well, I had to wait a few more years for all my questions. In the 80s I worked as a court photographer in my military unit – the 6th Pomeranian Airborne Division in Cracow. Later I had a 3-year apprenticeship in Studio2000 A. Grzybowska in Cracow, which was the best equipped in those days. After this period, I passed journeyman and master exams. After several years, I became the owner of my studio in Skawina and later in Cracow.

During these years, the studio has done hundreds of wedding, portrait, model portfolio and other sessions. I have also made film reports from various celebrations. Rallying is my great passion; for over 18 years I have been present at all rally events both in Poland and abroad (European and World Championships) documenting these events. Many of my pictures have appeared in leading motoring magazines in Poland and Europe. In 2006 I moved to the UK, also here I continue to work as a photojournalist, among others I spent over 8 years working for photographic agencies, documenting world film premieres in London.

At the time of ubiquitous digitalization, photography unfortunately became a bit commonplace and ceased to be the magic it once was. We all take thousands of photos, but do we think about composition, frame, lighting, etc.? The time stopped in the frame when we are young, happy, our children and family is a souvenir for life, for us and future generations. I will stop the time for you and show the emotion in the pictures.

In a word, I do what I love, engaging 100% of myself, using my creativity, knowledge, energy, and experience.
